Nasolacrimal duct probing

Since he was born, Ben has had this obstructed left tear duct. We had to take him in today to a Pediatric Ophthalmologist who probed the duct to open it up. I sat in the corner and was not allowed to move from my seat while they did the procedure. They had to strap him down to a papoose board and then held his head completely still. It took all of the energy that I had to stay in that corner and not go help him. He hated it, but hopefully it will fix the problem. We went straight from the office across the street to Dick's and bought him a milkshake. Actually, there was a guy in line in front of use who was talking to Ben and we told him that we just came from the eye doctor. It was pretty obvious from the look of his eye - either that or we are abusive parents. When we got up there the lady said, "That man in front of you bought an ice cream for your son." As you can see from the pictures below, Ben needed the treat.
