Summer In Preston, ID

This is from our summer in Preston, ID. I was there for a month long rotation with a family physician. For those who know and/or care, Preston is the site where Napoleon Dynamite was filmed. We happened to be in town for the "Napoleon Dynamite Festival." It was pretty funny to see. Lyle was there signing autographs and meeting everyone.

Ben, who as of yet does not walk, was finding interesting ways to avoid the pavement. Too keep his knees up, he learned this little crab walk. We keep thinking that he is going to start walking any day now, but he just loves to crawl. Actually, it is nice to still have him on all fours because he is not falling over all of the time and hitting things. He does get into everything though. Life is wonderful with a little one year old around.

This was Ben on his birthday. The real impressive photo is the next one.

He loved his first birthday cake. I think it was more fun for us to watch him eat than for him to eat though. After about 10 minutes the sugar must have gotten to him, because he turned into a little ham, putting on a show for everyone.

Ben loved playing on the ranch where we stayed for that month. It's my grandparents place and there were many things that he doesn't get chance to see in the city. He learned how to call the cows and loved chasing around the wild kittens.

You got a cute family Jacob. Nice to hear from you. I can't believe you met Lyle from N.D. Anyways, keep in touch! - Gary
