Thanksgiving on the Ranch

We've been planning for the last few months to have all of Jacob's family come to Boise for Thanksgiving, but at the last minute, we all decided we'd rather spend Thanksgiving on Grandpa Leavitt's Ranch up in Cove, UT (just north of Logan). Grandma has been troubled with different health problems and so they've been unable to return to their winter home in San Diego. Seeing that they'd have a lonely holiday weekend, we decided to crash in on them. We had a wonderful time just taking in the beauty of the mountains and the (cold!) country air. We enjoyed a fantastic meal on Thursday, with the crown jewel being Grandpa's BBQed turkey. On Friday, the girls shopped the day away in Logan, while Grandpa kept the boys busy plowing the fields. Ben and Max loved spending the weekend with his aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, and even meeting their first cousin on this side. All in all a wonderful weekend full of thanksgiving to be together and to be with Grandpa and Grandma Leavitt.

Great Grandpa Leavitt and Grandma Calvert-they worked so hard and everything was delicious!

Although they may have borrowed some of Grandpa's accessories (coats, gloves, boots), to look like authentic farmers, the guys all had a good laugh out in the field when they all confessed that they were wearing Gap and American Eagle jeans, some of them being brand new.

Max couldn't get enough of the cranberry ice we have every Thanksgiving.
