Yesterday was Max's 2nd birthday. I can't believe our little guy is that big! He's supposed to be our baby! We had a great day of opening some fun presents, eating a delicious Monkey cake (so appropriate for our boy) and hanging out with our friends, the Egberts. We just adore Max and have enjoyed every minute since he joined our little family. He has always been our smiley, easy going guy and has such a joyful personality. Happy Birthday little buddy! We love you!
Wow I can't believe 2 years has gone by!!! Elijah had a monkey birthday for his 1st. Isn't it such a cute theme? Little boys just seem like monkeys :) I love that cake! It's the Martha Stewart one, right? I did a version of it for Elijah's birthday but wasn't as brave as you about baking a cake in a bowl so I did a flat circle version. So cute!
We cannot believe how fast these last couple of years of gone. Can you believe medical school is coming to an end? Looking forward to seeing you at graduation!
Abbey-you are so creative and crafty-you really need to start a magazine with all your ideas! I loved the cake!!! I can't believe Max is 2! Claire is 2 tomorrow-time flies!

Ben, out of the blue: "I am absolutely sure Grandma is shrinking." (9/20/08)
Ben: (Not upset but in kind of a funny mood) "I'm so mad right now I could kill a pig!" (9/13/08)
Ben: "Our neighbors are going to Hannah Montana (meaning Montana)." (8/24/08)
Ben telling daddy about Lake Tahoe: "I even holded a crawdad. Did you know that Jake?" (8/24/08)
Daddy: "Ben, what was your favorite part of that (very entertaining and also mildly overpriced) carnival." Ben: "Getting a little drink out of that drinking fountain." (5/16/08)
Mommy: "Ben, how come you didn't eat your broccoli?" Ben: "I just forgot that it was real broccoli and thought that it was painted wood broccoli that you put on my plate." (5/3/08)
Ben: "Jets are so cool I almost don't even like them." (4/21/08)
Ben: "Wow Mom, your hair looks good...did you do it?" (4/21/08)
Ben: "Mom, I have a little something to tell you...I love you." (4/20/08)
